JAYAPURA, PACEKRIBO - Pertemuan International Parliamentarians for West Papua (IPWP) di
London, 3 Mei 2016 menghasilkan sebuah deklarasi yang dinamakan Deklarasi
Westminter.
Deklarasi
Westminter ini ditandatangani oleh 95 anggota IPWP di Gedung Parlemen London.
Deklarasi ini mendesak dilakukannya Pengawasan Internasional Penentuan Nasib
Sendiri bagi bangsa Papua Barat.
Berikut
isi Deklarasi Westminter
Kami anggota parlemen yang
bertandatangan, yang menjadi anggota International Parliamentarians for West
Papua (IPWP):
1. Menyatakan bahwa pelanggaran Hak
Asasi Manusia terus terjadi di Papua Barat dan tidak bisa diterima.
2. Memperingatkan bahwa tanpa tindakan
internasional rakyat Papua Barat beresiko mengalami kepunahan.
3.. Mengulangi hak rakyat Papua Barat
untuk benar-benar menentukan nasib sendiri.
4. Menyatakan terjadi pelanggaran berat
dalam prinsip-prinsip pelaksanaan ‘Act of Free Choice’ 1969
5. Mendesak pengawasan internasional
dalam penentuan nasib sendiri sesuai dengan Resolusi Majelis Umum PBB 1514 dan
1541 (XV).
